Instructions to use the gauge

1. Make sure your caravan/trailer is on stable level ground with the handbrake applied and supported by the jockey wheel (with the corner steadies retracted if applicable).
2. Place the Nose weight Indicator Gauge under the towing hitch and slowly retract the jockey wheel. This will allow the gauge to accurately measure the weight of the caravan or trailer.
3. Read the results from the gauge which has a weight range of 50 – 100Kg.
4. To ensure you are within the permitted limits, consult the handbooks provided by the towing vehicle, towbar, and caravan/trailer manufacturers for maximum noseweights and towing weights.

(Note: when loading heavy items, they should be placed as close to the center axle as possible.)

Warning: If the nose weight reading exceeds the maximum permitted weight, redistribute the internal load and/or remove items to lighten the load. After each change, re-check nose weight. Do NOT attempt to counterbalance with weight at the rear of the caravan as this will cause pitching.
